KCamp
Our KCamp program is for campers who will be entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2012. Unlike older campers, this group has their schedule chosen for them and are kept together as a group with one Senior Counselor as their constant companion. This program ensures a feeling of security for our youngest campers and allows them to happily explore their creativity with the same instructors as the other campers but with curriculum and class lengths appropriate to their age. KCampers under the watchful eye of their own Senior Counselor will enjoy breaks and lunchtime with the rest of the campers. Below is the schedule that will be followed for each campus. For information on which classes will be offered to each group, please check the campus location and schedule (MWF or TTh) below. Descriptions for each class are listed below:

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
BACK TO NATURE - Leaf prints, nature collages, garden sculptures. KCampers use the great outdoors as their inspiration as they create wild and wonderful art. We will take long walks outside to gather ideas and materials.
BEGINNING CHEFS - Measure, dice, stir, knead, bake, taste and enjoy. This workshop is the perfect experience for the new cook. Students will learn all the basics of cooking - from equipment to techniques - by practicing on a wide variety of dishes. The ABC’s have never been so tasty!
FUN WITH CLAY - Animals to bowls, people to plates, you can make it all with clay. KCampers will have their hands full of fun as they learn to build masterpieces galore from one of the most engaging materials in the world of art.
MIX IT UP - Art comes in all shapes and sizes and combinations. In this workshop KCampers explore the marvels of multi-media as they experiment with the many ways materials can be combined to make art.
MOVIN’ AND GROOVIN’ - Move, jump, spin, and twirl! This workshop offers students a chance to explore creative movement and learn basic dance steps.
ONSTAGE - Learn to act like a lion or be as shy as a mouse. This creative drama workshop encourages each student to imagine and explore drama and the art of storytelling through improvisation, creating stories, and role playing. Live piano accompaniment and original music adds to the fun!
PUPPETS ON PARADE - KCampers enjoy the fun of making their own puppet characters and then bringing them to life in simple puppet plays.
