Counselor-In-Training Program

CIT

The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program provides young teens (12 – 17 years old)  the opportunity to develop skills as leaders in a creative and safe environment. The CIT’s are offered a diversity of activities which allow them to expand their abilities and broaden their horizons in preparation to becoming counselors with the Children’s Arts Institute or other camp programs.

Session I: June 19 – July 7, 2017 (3 weeks) No Camp July 4
Session 2: July 10 – July 21, 2017 (2 weeks)
Session 3: July 24 – August 4, 2017 (2 weeks)

Westland Campus
Westland School. 16200 Mulholland Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90049
Session I: June 26 – July 14, 2017 (3 weeks) No Camp July 4
Session 2: July 17 – August 4, 2017 (3 weeks)

Hours: 8:30am–3:00pm
Days: Monday–Friday

REQUIREMENTS

Daily: Assist in workshops. Help supervise younger campers.
Open Houses: Help set-up and attend our exhibit/performance nights at the end of session.

Cost: This is not a job, but a camp program we offer for junior teens.  Participating in the program does not guarantee future employment with CAI but references will be provided for those that successfully complete the program.
DAILY SCHEDULE
8:30 AM — Arrive at camp
8:30-9:00 AM — Supervise campers, assist around camp
9:00-10:00 AM — Assist with morning classes
10:00-10:30 AM — Snack and Play break for campers
10:30-11:30 AM — Continue assisting and participate in classes
11:30-12:30 PM — Lunch, lunch jobs, supervise campers
12:30-1:30 PM — Assist in a workshop
1:30-2:00 PM — Afternoon Break- outside play and activities
2:00–3:00 PM — Camp Activities/Special Events
